Yes, toilets for people with special needs are available in the Umweltinformationszentrum (entrance building of the Treetop Walk).
The access to the entrance tower, the tree top walk and the observation tower “Adlerhorst” are designed to be fully accessible and age-friendly.
The path is, with a maximum gradient of 6 %, also accessible for wheelchair users and prams. There are areas along the way without ascents, which offer opportunities to take a break.
At the end of the Treetop Walk, an exit tower brings you back to the ground. Once you have reached the bottom, you can go directly to the environmental information centre.
In the exit tower as well as in the environmental information centre, a lift makes it easy for senior citizens, wheelchair users and parents with prams to visit.
Our restaurant, the Boomhus Gastronomie, is also accessible to wheelchair users.
We recommend that people with a disabled pass (B) buy their ticket on site at the ticket office. We offer a discounted ticket and free admission for the accompanying person on presentation of the ID.
Parking spaces for people with disabilities are available at the P1 visitor car park.
These are marked and 500 metres from the entrance to the treetop path.
QUESTIONS ABOUT THE VISIT
Of course you are allowed to bring your own food and drinks. Please note, however, that you must take back everything you bring with you. For the sake of the environment, please do not throw any rubbish off the trail and leave it as you would like to find it. You will find rubbish bins in several places around the trail.
Smoking is prohibited on the treetop path. This may seem strange at first for an open-air leisure facility, but please note: You are in a strictly protected area. Carelessly discarded cigarette butts are unwelcome co-inhabitants here, which not only last a lifetime (2-7 years) but can also start forest fires.
Anyone may take photographs and film on the treetop path for private purposes. However, overflights and recordings with drones are prohibited. In addition to environmental protection (noise from larger drones, disturbance of strictly protected animal habitats during take-off, landing and drone flights), the protection of our visitors from unwanted recordings also plays a role in this decision.
A filming permit is always required for photo and film recordings made at the treetop path for commercial purposes. More information is available in our press area.
Unfortunately no! For safety reasons, the path may not be used with inline skates, skateboards, city scooters or bicycles.
There are no toilets on the treetop path itself. Toilet facilities are available free of charge at the Umweltinformationszentrum (entrance building of the Treetop Walk). In summer there is also a toilet block outside at the car park.
Strolling along the 1,250-metre-long Treetop Walk takes about 1 to 2 hours, depending on how fast and inquisitive you are.
After the walk, you are invited to visit the exciting adventure exhibition “360° Naturerbe Prora” followed by a visit to our current temporary exhibition. Or you can round off your visit with a stop at the Boomhus Restaurant with its large beer garden and playground.
Directly at the exit of the treetop path is the Boomhus restaurant with beer garden and free adventure playground for the little ones. Furthermore, the Umweltbildungszentrum houses a souvenir shop, an interactive permanent exhibition and changing art galleries.
Yes, a baby changing room is available at the Treetop Walk at the Naturerbe Zentrum Rügen in the toilet rooms.
All children U14 must be accompanied by an adult on the Treetop Walk and Viewing Tower. We offer an attractive family rate!
There are lockable dog houses with fresh drinking water available for your four-legged friends, which you can use free of charge. You can get information about this at the ticket office.
Yes, the path is open in all weather conditions, even when it rains. If it snows, the path is cleared properly and is therefore also accessible for our guests.
However, in the event of thunderstorms, hail, storms and ice, we reserve the right to close the trail for safety reasons.
If we have to close the trail at short notice, we will announce it here on our website, on Facebook and Instagram. Before you head off to the Naturerbe Zentrum Rügen, we recommend to take a quick look at one of these channels!
Dogs* and animals of all kinds are not allowed on the trail.
In addition to the hygiene aspect, the safety aspect (for animals and humans) plays a major role in this decision. Most responsible owners keep a close eye on their animals, but dogs can still show unexpected social behaviour towards strangers and also towards their peers. A fear of heights in dogs can also trigger flight behaviour. Unfortunately, the narrow path offers neither retreat nor escape possibilities for animals nor for people with a fear of dogs.
There are doghouses with drinking water available for your four-legged friends at the treetop path, and you can use them free of charge.
Information on this is available at the ticket office.
*Exception: disabled companion dogs and care assistance dogs.
