As the days grow shorter and winter sets in, a very special time begins on the Usedom Treetop Walk. For the third time, the ‘Night Lights’ event is transforming the walk and the surrounding forest into a dazzling world of wonder. From 28 November 2026 to 21 February 2027, you can look forward to impressive light installations, atmospheric moments in the forest and a unique walk through the treetops.

You need to know that

How many LEDs were installed?

Over 300,000 LEDs were installed.

These are located in the fairy lights along the handrail and in the 2-D and 3-D light elements. The fairy lights are several kilometres long.

Naturally, we use state-of-the-art and therefore energy-saving technology. Sustainability is a key principle for the Treetop Walk Usedom and for Erlebnis Akademie AG (eak). For this reason, we have dealt intensively with this issue in advance. Energy consumption was a decisive criterion. This is around 4 kilowatt hours per day. That is about the same amount as a person consumes in a private household.

Is there an impact on forest animals?

The Night Lihgts have no negative effects on the animals in the forest.

In preparation for the winter highlight, we held discussions with the responsible district forester, a landscape ecologist and the nature conservation authority. The result of this consultation is the use of a warm white, gentle light with very low light emissions. In addition, the low temperatures in the winter months prevent insect activity. The flight activities of bats start later and the breeding season of native birds only begins with the foliage.

In order to allow the animals in the forest a natural light break, the opening hours of the Night Lights are limited. We close the Treetop Walk every evening at 7:00 p.m. and switch off all the lights.

Are the restaurant and the shop open?

Our in-house restaurant, the Futterkrippe, is open from 11:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Before visiting the Night Lights, our guests can stop by for a hot meal, a small snack or a drink.

The opening hours of our shop are the same as those of the Night Lights. So you can browse for a small souvenir or gift at any time.
