FAQ for your visit to the Sentier des cimes Laurentides
Frequently
asked questions
General
Dogs and other animals are unfortunately not allowed on the walkway of Sentier des cimes (with the exception of assistance dogs*).
This rule is primarily for the safety and well-being of everyone:
- the walkway is narrow and elevated, which can be stressful for some animals;
- unpredictable behavior, even if rare, can put the animal or visitors at risk;
- there is no space to retreat in case of fear or reaction.
Good news! Your four-legged companion is welcome on the grounds of the Ancienne-Pisciculture:
- on the pedestrian trails surrounding the Ancienne-Pisciculture,
- in the adjacent park,
- and on the outdoor terrace of our restaurant Chez Émile.
Dogs must be kept on a leash at all times.
*Guide dogs and assistance dogs are permitted at all times. For assistance dogs, individuals accompanied by their dog must provide documentation from a health professional attesting to their need (due to a disability, medical condition, or mental health condition) and the usefulness of the animal to meet that need. They must also provide information and documentation regarding the animal’s behavior and any risk it may present in a public space such as Sentier des cimes Laurentides (https://www.cdpdj.qc.ca/en/your-obligations/prohibited-grounds/handicap-animaux).
The walkway and the panoramic tower have no obstacles and are therefore easily accessible with a wheelchair or a stroller.
With a maximum slope of 6%, the path has several areas with no inclination, where it is possible to rest.
During the winter season, walkway conditions may cause difficulty for wheelchair access. Please contact us at 873-229-0363 to verify.
The Sentier des cimes is open all year round, find our opening hours for each season here.
In the event of special weather conditions, such as thunderstorms or high winds, or other situations beyond our control, such as a power failure, the site will be closed.
The announcement of the closure will be made on our Facebook page.
Everyone is allowed to take pictures and videos for private purposes on the Sentier des cimes. However, overflights and filming with drones are prohibited. In addition to environmental protection (noise caused by large drones, disturbance of strictly protected animal habitats during take-off, landing and flight of drones), this prohibition is also intended to protect our visitors from unwanted filming.
For photos and films made on the Sentier des cimes for commercial purposes, a filming permit is always required.
No. Only rubber crampons are allowed, and only walking sticks with rubber or plastic tips are allowed so as not to damage the wooden structure.
The Treetop Walk is well maintained and monitored every day to ensure the best possible walking conditions; although we cannot guarantee that the surface is not slippery, every effort is made to keep it safe and easy to access.
For safety reasons, you cannot access the path with in-line skates, skateboards, scooters or bicycles.
Smoking is not allowed on the Sentier des cimes Laurentides. This may sound strange for an outdoor leisure activity, but remember: you are in a strictly protected area. Carelessly discarded cigarette butts are unwanted roommates that not only last a lifetime (2-7 years), but can also start forest fires.
Of course, food and drink that you bring with you are allowed. However, please note that everything you bring with you must be taken with you. For the sake of the environment, we ask you not to litter the trail and to leave it as you would like it. You will find rubbish bins at several places around the trail.
The width of the trail is 8 feet (2.5 meters).
The majority of visitors who are afraid of heights climb to the top of the panoramic tower and are surprised at how much they do not feel the fear of heights. Their comments all point in the same direction: they feel safe and the pleasure of the experience overcomes the vertigo.
Some of them even manage to walk on the net hanging from the top of the tower.
Bring comfortable clothes adapted to the season.
In summer, remember to bring a hat, mosquito repellent and sunscreen.
And don't forget warm clothes because it can get cold at the top of the panoramic tower.
We recommend that you wear comfortable clothing and footwear appropriate for the season.
It is possible to access the Sentier des cimes in sandals or high heels, but not ideal!
None at all! The trail is safe for everyone.

The Slide
A 53-metre felt-mat slide — the longest of its kind in Canada — accessible from the small elevator tower at the start of the Treetop Walk Laurentides.

The fee is $2.90 + tax per ride. Tickets are sold at the entrance to the slide. Card payment only.
The slide is not accessible without a valid Treetop Walk admission (day ticket or annual pass).
In summer, the slide may close at any time due to rain, high humidity, or bad weather.
From November to March, it is open if conditions allow, but may close in case of snow, ice, or other adverse weather conditions.
- To slide alone: minimum age 6 years and minimum height 120 cm / 48 inches
- Children under 6 or under 120 cm / 48 inches must be accompanied by an adult; children who are fearful may also ride with an adult
- One person per mat, except when an adult accompanies a child who cannot slide alone
- Semi-lying position, legs forward, holding the red strap of the mat with both hands
- The slide mat is mandatory (provided on site)

- Always follow staff instructions
- Remove or place small items at your feet inside the mat
- Exit the landing area promptly after your ride
