Experience a unique journey through time on the Treetop walk in the Giant Mountains! We have prepared a fascinating event that will take you to the world of old crafts and traditional handicrafts. Throughout the day there will be stalls along the Trail where visitors can try out different crafts and discover the beauty and craftsmanship of our ancestors.
Each stall will offer a glimpse into the art of wirework, metalwork will show you how to work with metal and create a small masterpiece. In rope making, you will discover how simple threads can be made into strong and durable ropes that were essential for everyday life.
Basketry will enchant you with its simplicity and elegance, and you will learn the basic techniques of basket weaving that are not only beautiful but practical. Candle making will introduce you to the process of making candles, which were once the main source of light in homes. In the mint, you will be able to experience how coins were minted and what old currency looked like.
In addition, you will have the opportunity to try your hand at printing, where you will learn about traditional methods of printing on paper and textiles. All of the tools and materials used at this event are period and original, meaning you will be able to experience making exactly as it was done many years ago.
This event is perfect for all ages, so feel free to bring the whole family and friends. It’s a great opportunity to learn something new, spend time in the beautiful countryside and experience how people lived and worked in the past. Visitors will be able to try out all the techniques for themselves, so you’ll not only take home new knowledge, but maybe even a handmade souvenir.
